The Role

Cointelegraph is seeking a Social Media Manager. This is an opportunity to join a company with the stability of an enterprise organization but the excitement and growth opportunities of a startup. For this role, intermediate crypto expertise is optimal for success. Reports to Social Media Lead and is responsible for overseeing company’s daily social media output.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Write in multiple voices, from newsy to light and humorous, to tailor content according to both message and medium
• Maintain and develop a keen understanding of the industry, its history, the current news, and benchmark against top-performing social media creators in the sector
• Write posts that are accurate, clear, concise, and engaging.
• Work across the organization with writers, editors, event planners, and product managers to create captivating social media posts, content, and campaigns across multiple platforms.
• Work with the team to build scalable, replicable processes; and educate other team members on how to execute against team strategies when you are not there to supervise.
• Work with a team of designers, video editors, and animators to provide substantive feedback on social media graphics, videos, and other types of content.
• Have proficiency in Discord, Telegram, and online moderation
• Analyzes and identifies any weaknesses in flagship company’s social media and digital marketing strategy and makes recommendations for improvements to necessary personnel
• Uses social media marketing tools to create and maintain flagship company’s brand
• Has the skills of organizing tasks to meet deadlines. Social Media Managers must meet marketing and business goals
• In-depth knowledge of a variety of social media platforms, particularly Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and TikTok.
• Comfort quickly switching gears and focus, moving from social media posting to content creation to campaign building throughout the day

Required Education/Experience:

• 3-5 years experience creating social media copy and content, ideally with an agency setting
• 3-5 years experience overseeing social media staff and implementing digital campaigns
• Prior experience within the crypto/blockchain industry is required, whether in a professional or personal capacity.
