Job responsibilities:
You will focus on General Matters, Employment Law, and Contracts.
General Matters
- Providing legal support and timely advice to upper management and each business sector on relevant legal issues.
- Managing and mitigating legal risks by designing and implementing company policies and procedures.
- Communicating with and managing any third-party bodies such as external counsel.
- Designing and delivering legal training to the business.
- Keeping up with current changes on all relevant areas of laws and contributing to the enhancement of the knowledge base of the company’s legal function.
Employment Law
- Provide counseling to HR and other internal clients to identify and manage labor and employment legal risks
- Act as subject matter expert for specialty area(s) including discrimination, pay equity, wrongful termination, retaliation, and internal employment investigations in Singapore and other jurisdictions (China/US are preferred).
- Engage and work with outside counsel to manage employment litigation and administrative proceedings (practiced in Singapore or other jurisdictions is preferred).
- Develop and review written HR policies, guidelines and processes, templates, and training materials
- Develop and deliver legal training for internal departments
- Provide employment law advice regarding and directing internal investigations
Contracts
- Drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and management of legal documents such as contracts, statements, and agreements.
Job requirements:
- BA in Law or above
- Minimum 2 - 3 years PQE gained as an in-house with an MNC
- Previous working experience as a lawyer or legal counsel(worked in a financial or cryptocurrency company is preferred)
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Some knowledge of and/or interest in block-chain and/or cryptocurrency
