A year has passed and another year has begun. Looking back on the year, MetaOasis has gone through many sparkling moments accompanied by your support and love. Now it’s time to review what happened in MetaOasis Universe.

This is a landmark year for MetaOasis: not only did we make a marvellous achievement in marketing, but we also gained a lot of experience in game-making and product development, as well as made expansion of the MetaOasis ecosystem! So far we have finished our self-developed products such as Emergence, Light chaser, Embassy Planet and finished the launch of our first PFP NFT named Player One.

  • Embassy Planet

Earlier this year, we developed Embassy Planet, the first finance square for VCs&Funds, also the first special planet of MetaOasis, which laid the groundwork for out shared-built Metaverse named Emergence. We used Unity to develop. In Q2, users can log in to visit each backer and read about all their history and achievements. Now we have realized that users can do live streaming and multi-player exploration online.

  • Emergence

Emergence is an open Metaverse world where people can co-build their own home and community, and people can decide their own community culture and play games with friends in the community. Users can work together to exploit resources to build more unexplored land. Inside the game everything will be in the form of NFT, users are in full control of their assets and can exchange the created NFT for tokens and earn revenue.

In the late of Q2, the infrastructure and the core logic of Emergence were built. So what we do next is create the UI to make it easier to travel about the wonderful Metaverse and perfect the art style of the scenes. And in late Q3, we finished the modeling, improved the graphics of the scenes, and eventually launched the internal test thanks to the behind-the-scenes efforts of the MetaOasis art team. Now, Emergence has been upgraded with some features such as collection exhibition hall, map teleporting and real-time online chat, and it is available for download now.

  • Light Chaser

In August 2022, MetaOasis announced the public beta for Light Chaser. Data could show that the game did a trick once the public beta was released. More over 1,500 testers joined, bringing the total number of testers to 2,894. At the same time, 17 guilds and squads joined in. Finally, Ming Huang, U9, LGG stood out from the strong lineups to become the top 3.

Before the public beta, we tested many times and fixed some bugs, like the score did not upload to the servers when breaking the record. Meanwhile, we optimized some places to make the game smooth, like we redesigned the sapceship-choosing system so as to no need to choose again when the gamers log in.

  • Gun and Glory

Gun and Glory is a VR game designed and developed by our inhouse studio — Epoison studio. The studio, with over ten years of game-making experience, spent two months designing to make the game saturated with fun. It’s a first-person shooting game, in which players can enjoy fun and aggressive gunplay.

In Q4, the team finished the item modelling, scene randering, and UI design.

The modellers determined the overall proportion in MAYA so that the guns and in-game items become more realistic to the human’s eyes. The reason for this is to make the game more immersive when played with a VR device. After they determine the proportion and draw in outline, they will focus on the topology and adjust the routing of each model.

Better yet, our inhouse team focused largely on UX and UI, therefore we had meetings many times looking for a solution for the best user experience. When the game goes to public beta, people will find that the ingame UI is compatible with human physiology. Players will immerse themselves in the fun game while experiencing ingenious designing: the semi-arc UI, the center visual, the best position of lens and others.

  • Digital Human

Because of our years of expertise digging into game production, we are a trailblazer in the digital human area. We have a mature and advanced way of making it in technology, whether in 3D randering, motion and face capture, or artificial intelligence. We produced detailed and realistic ideas for the scenario application of digital humans, such as virtual performance, virtual live streamer, digital press release, and others.

As of Q4, we have made it that users can generate their own avatar according to their face and make the expression more realistic. Meanwhile, we can restore the fineness of the face’s details and the texture of the fabric. And now we have applied digital human technology to the field of livestreaming and virtual sociality.

  • STRAYED

Strayed is a light puzzle game. There is no difficulty in development, but due to the special nature of puzzle games, our team mainly focuses on the decryption of this game. We put a lot of effort from editing the story to integrating it with the game. We hope to arouse players’ curiosity and desire to explore. If you played the game, you definitely would find the extra surprise that there was a tribute to Ready Player One in the end.

  • Player One — The Genesis PFP NFT

We decided to do PFP because we thought our art was top-notching and should be shown to the world, and we could build a grand worldview to carry our views and ideas about the world. After a few brainstorming sessions, our team set up the project.

PFP was able to find seed and consensus users for MetaOasis, so we innovated the first-ever buy-back merchanism just in order to protect our users from fluctuating prices of NFT. It is true that when our PFP NFT was first introduced, it was so popular that it sold out in less than 3 minutes and reached the Top 4 of OpenSea, which is a very impressive result.
